WHAT RUINED UNREAL TOURNAMENT 3?

If you like me have played the "beta demo" for UT3 I'm sure you too have noticed
something: the game totally sucks ass. But what is it that causes it to suck this
much ass? Here's a list of a couple of things everybody noticed (so far).

001. YOU CAN'T MOVE THE CAMERA AFTER YOU DIED.
002. YOU DO NOT KNOW WHAT KILLED YOU.
003. SCORE LIST HIDES AWAY THE HUD AND CHAT .
004. CAN'T SEE THE NAMES OF ENEMIES WHEN YOU AIM AT THEM.
005. YOU DIE WAY TOO QUICKLY. TOO LITTLE HEALTH, WEAPONS DO TOO
MUCH DAMAGE (ESPECIALLY VEHICLES).
006. SNIPER TOO GOOD VS VEHICLES.
007. SNIPER WORKS GREAT WITHOUT USING ZOOM.
008. USING LINK GUN TO HEAL TAKES A BIT TOO MUCH AMMO.
009- SMALL EDGES AND SHIT GET IN THE WAY OF MOVEMENT
(LIKE SIDEJUMPING OR GETTING UP FROM WATER).
010. TOO MUCH ADVERTISEMET WHEN THE GAME STARTS.

011. WHEN KILLED THE CAMERA SOMETIMES GOES CRAZY AND WON'T STOP
MOVING.
012. THE MENU IS UGLY.
013. HAVE TO CREATE AND LOG INTO A PROFILE WHEN STARTING GAME.
014. BAD INFO/DESCRIPTIONS IN THE MENU (OK I KNOW THIS ENABLES OR
DISABLES SOMETHING BUT WHAT THE HELL IS THAT SOMETHING??)
015. YOU CANT MAKE A SIDE JUMP FOLLOWED BY A ORDINARY JUMP-
016. VERY UGLY ICON FOR THE GAME. STRESSED TO RELEASE THE DEMO?
THEY ONLY HAD -YEARS- TO DO THIS...
017. BETA DEMO 1 MONTH BEFORE THE GAME IS RELEASED?
AND ONLY DEATH MATCH/"DUEL"/VEHICLE CTF? ALSO THE
DEMO IS THE WAY IT IS? JOKE OR A SLAP IN THE FACE?

018. HOW THE HELL DOES THE SERVER LIST WORK? sOMETHING HAPPENS
WHEN YOU SORT BY PING, BUT IT SURE ISN'T DESCENDING OR
ASCENDING... VERY MUCH SHIT INDEED.
019. SEARCHING FOR SERVERS ACROSS GAME MODES ISN'T EASY.
ACTUALLY IT WAY TOO TIRESOME FOR SUCH A SIMPLE TASK.
020. GOING BACK TO MENU FROM INSIDE THE GAME TAKES AGES!
021. WHEN THE GAME ENDS YOU CAN CHAT, BUT TO SEE THE MESSAGES
YOU HAVE TO GO INTO THE "CHAT" OPTION IN THE GAME MENU.
022. AMMO DOESN'T SEEM TO INHERIT MOMENTUM FROM THE PLAYER.
WOW, WHAT PHYSICS.
023. NO CONQUEST GAME MODE IN THE DEMO!!! NOT EVEN
ONSLAUGHT. A PROPER DEMO BETTER BE RELEASED...

THE MAKERS OF UT3 HOPEFULLY REALISES THAT, JUST
AS IT WAS WITH UT2004, THE MAPS THAT ARE IN THE
DEMO WILL HAVE MUCH MORE PLAYERS EVEN AFTER THE
SELLS OF THE GAME HAS STARTED TO DROP? BECAUSE
PEOPLE WILL STILL LIKE PLAYING IT FOR FREE.
IF THEY MAKE IT LIKE THEY DID IN UT2004 (THAT THE
PEOPLE THAT BOUGHT THE GAME WILL BE ABLE TO PLAY
WITH THE DEMO FOLKS) THIS MEANS THAT THESE MAPS
WILL LAST LONGER AND IN THE END WILL BE THE ONLY
DECENT POPULATED SERVERS (IF THEY DON'T ADOPT
THAT FEATURE FROM UT2004 THEY ARE TARDS).
I DO -NOT- THINK THESE MAPS DESERVE TO BE THE
PRIMARY MAPS OF UT3, AND I PRAY FOR THEIR SAKE
THAT THIS IS NOT THE TOP OF THE HILL.

024. SECONDARY SHOT OF THE ENFORCER GUN SHOOTS A THREE SHOTS
BURST WITH TOO MUCH SPREAD TO BE ANY GOOD.
025. ENFORCER HAS A GRAPHICAL BUG BTW IF YOU PICK UP A WEAPON WHILE
IT'S BEING LOADED AT THE BEGINNING OF SPAWN. NOW IT WILL HANG
IN THE AIR ABOVE YOUR REAL WEAPONS.
026. : LOOKS LIKE ; AND VICE VERSA. ERGO, ":)" WILL LOOK LIKE ";)".
027. Ö CANNOT BE WRITTEN SINCE THAT'S THE CONSOLE (MIGHT NOT BE A
ISSUE TO YOU BUT TO SOME PEOPLE IT WILL BE).
028. O LOOKS A LOT LIKE A IN CHAT MESSAGES.
029. 6 LOOKS A LOT LIKE 8 IN YOUR LIFE.
030. TO SEE CHAT HISTORY, YOU CAN USE THE CONSOLE. WHY
NOT F2? OR SHOW HISTORY WHEN PRESSING T (CHAT).

031. UDAMAGE INSTEAD OF DOUBLE DAMAGE? LOL?
032. THE TAUNTS SUCKS. PLAIN AND SIMPLE. "THAT WAS NASTY"???
033. TAUNTS CAN BE SPAMMED. NO LIMITS WHAT SO EVER,
034. "F YEAH" INSTEAD OF "FUCK YEAH"???? IS THE GAME FROM 12 YEARS
AND UP ALL OF A SUDDEN? THIS GAME HAS NO ATTITUDE.
035. WHEN OVER RUN BY THE SCORPION "SCISSORS" YOU WILL -NOT- BE CUT
IN HALF. AGAIN, DO WE WANT ANNOYING CHILDREN PLAYING?
036. UNREAL TOURNAMENT 3 INSTEAD OF UNREAL TOURNAMENT 2007? THAT
FUCKING SUCKS.
037. VERY BAD VOICE ACTING FOR THE TAUNTS. SOUNDS
HORRIBLE.
038. HARD TO GET DEMO RUNNING ON WIN XP64.

039. THE SCORPION VEHICLE HAS IT'S SCISSORS AT THE FRONT OF THE CAR
NOW. GOT UGLY?
040. THE SCORPION HAS A TURBO ON SPACE. WELL, I GUESS THAT'S OK.
041. THE SCORPION NOW SHOOTS SINGLE SHOTS, PLASMABLOBS OR
SOMETHING. NO MORE COOL CHARGING AND STICKY THINGS THAT
COULD WRAP ITSELF AROUND YOU OR GET STUCK ON THE TANK (AND
DEAL MORE DAMAGE THE MORE OF ITS JOINTS THAT GOT STUCK). WHY??
051. THE HELLBENDER TURRET ISN'T CHARGEABLE NOW. SINGLE SHOTS.
VERY BORING. NO FINESSE OR SKILLS REQUIRED TO USE IT.
052. THE RAPTOR MOVES SLOW AS FUCK (ESPECIALLY WHEN
GOING REVERSE) AND HAS MUCH STRONGER WEAPONS
NOW (MISSILE SPAM!). NOT FUN TO PLAY OR FACE.

053. THE MANTA IS EVEN MORE OVERPOWERED VS PEOPLE. EASIER TO DRIVE.
HURTS EVEN MORE LIKE HELL WHEN SHOT BY. ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO
HIT EXCEPT WITH THE "LONGBOW AVRIL" (THAT ON THE DEMO MAP IS
NOT AVAILIBLE IN THE BASE). IF YOU MANAGE TO KILL IT WITH THE
SECONDARY FIRE FROM TRE IMPACT HAMMER YOU WILL MOST LIKELY
ALSO DIE FROM THE EXPLOSION.
054. IMPACT HAMMER. NO SHIELD GUN. PRIMARY WILL HURT PLAYERS,
SECONDARY VEHICLES (AND DROP POWERUPS FROM PLAYERS WTF).
SHOULD HAVE BEEN SHIELD ON SECONDARY SO YOU CAM STILL PROTECT
YOURSELF FROM FALLDAMAGE AND INCOMMING SHIT.
PRIMARY SHOULD DO DAMAGE TO EVERYTHING

055. JUMP BOOTS. PRETTY FUN OK. SHOULD BE ACTIVATED WITH THREE HITS
ON SPACE THO INSTEAD OF JUST TWO SO YOU STILL CAN MOVE LIKE
NORMAL WHEN WEARING THEM.
056. ARMOUR ISN'T VERY GOOD. YOU STILL DIE WAAAY TOO FAST EVEN IF YOU
HAVE FULL ARMOUR.
057. WHAT'S UP WITH THIGHPADS (EXTRA 50 ARMOUR) AND HELMET
(PROTECTS YOU FROM A HEADSHOT)? DO WE REALLY NEED THEM? WELL
OK, THEY AREN'T BAD I GUESS.
058. FALLING DAMAGE IS PRETTY SEVERE.
059. SNIPER DOES TOO MUCH DAMAGE ON VEHICLES. SNIPERS
ARE FOR PEOPLE. SHOULD ONLY DO 1-10 DAMAGE ON
VEHICLES, DEPENDING ON TYPE OF VEHICLE.

060. LONGBOW AVRIL IS WHAT'S SERVED IN THE DEMO. I THINK THE MISSILE
IS FASTER AND CAN TARGET STUFF FURTHER AWAY, HOWEVER WHEN
TARGETING (SECONDARY FIRE) A LINE (LASER) IS DRAWN BETWEEN YOU
AND THE MISSILE WHICH NOT ONLY MAKES IT EASIER FOR THE ENEMY TO
KNOW FROM WHERE THE MISSILE COMES (HENCE BEING ABLE TO DODGE
IT BETTER) BUT ALSO IT GIVES AWAY YOUR LOCATION (SNIPERFOOD).
061. WHEN YOU SPAWN FOR A NEW ROUND THE GAME IS ALREADY AFOOT
SINCE LONG (I HAVE MAXED GRAPHICS BUT NOT VERY LONG LOADING
TIMES SINCE THE COMPUTER IS ONLY A COUPLE MONTHS
OLD). IS THERE NO DELAY? WAITING 10 SECONDS OR SO?
062. THE SCORE MENU LISTS SCORE AND NICKNAME. NOT
PING!! AND HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO RECOGNIZE BOTS?

063. THE REDEEMER WEAPON TAKES UP HALF THE SCREEN BEFORE LAUNCH.
064. THE ACTUAL REDEEMER EXPLOTION IS RIDICULOUS. IT'S LIKE A NORMAL
EXPLOTION ONLY WITH A ADDED WHITE FLASH THAT BLINDS YOU SO YOU
CAN'T SEE HOW UGLY IT IS.
065. POINT SYSTEM SUCKS! I USED TO BE AT THE TOP IN UT2004, NOW IM IN
THE MIDDLE OR MAYBE EVEN AT THE BOTTOM. THESE THINGS SHOULD
GET YOU POINTS: A) PICKING UP THE FLAG. B) EVERY STEP CLOSER TO
THE BASE YOU BRING THE FLAG SHOULD GIVE YOU A POINT FRACTIONS.
C) HOLDING THE FLAG WHIKE THE ENEMY HAS YOUR FLAG. D) HEALING
VEHICLES WHILE THEY ARE TAKING DAMAGE. E) TAKING
1 HP FROM AN ENEMY SHOULD GET YOU 0.01 POINTS.
066. LOCKED CARS SHOULD REGENERATE THEIR HEALTH.

BOTTOM LINE IS THAT IT SEEMS LIKE THE MAKERS OF THE GAME FORGOT IN
WHICH DIRECTION THEY WERE GOING. THIS IS NOT SUPPOSED TO BE QUAKE
OR BATTLEFIELD X. WE DO NOT WANT REALISM, THE NAME OF THE GAME
PROMISES SOMETHING DIFFERENT. (quake makers made same misstake btw)
THIS AINT UNREAL AND IM DISAPPOINTED.
IT'S NOT EVEN THAT GOOD LOOKING NOW. THEY WAITED TOO LONG.
- The final product better at least have every game mode that UT2004 had:
1 Vs. 1, Assault (with space ships also and stuff), Bombing Run,
Double Domination, Invasion (should be MUCH improved), Last
Man Standing, Mutant, Onslaught. (+DM/DDM/CTF/VCTF.)

If the final product is not changed dramatically it is very much possible that
this will be the biggest failure in gaming since the E.T. game.
