[ ZEITGEIST ADDENDUM ] In a world where 1% of the population owns 40% of the planet's wealth…in a world where 34,000 children die every single day from poverty and preventable diseases, and where 50% of the world's population lives on less than 2 dollars a day… one thing is clear: Something is very wrong. |
My own critique of this video is at the end. |
Hello, we are critics of Peter Joseph, and his followers, |
the zeitgeist movie movement. www.thezeitgeistmovement.com |
Peter Joseph wants you to believe the current paradigm has failed |
He wants to abandon our monetary system |
To create a resource allocation system |
Or a resource based economy |
We want people to get a better idea of the advances of human society |
Under the current paradigm. |
One that has proven to extend the lives and increase the prosperity |
of all people of the world. |
But now let's also see how the current paradigm has not only increased |
the health and wealth of all nations, but has also decreased child mortality rates |
Globally over the past 50 years. |

Howdy. I'm a member of The Zeitgeist Movement. |
Youtube source: Resource Based Economy Ignores Facts on Child Mortality |
I'll try to debunk some of the misinformation that was just presented by a critic of The Zeitgeist Movement. |
The first piece of insidious misinformation that's worth mentioning is when the video says: "wants you to believe". |
This statement is misleading because in materials provided by the zeitgeist movement, or the venus project, |
a person can clearly see that the people who support this direction actually advocate the scientific method for social concern. We don't advocate any kind of belief. |
Which means the zeitgeist movement (and the venus project) advocates an end to subjectivity. |
Subjectivity is defined as, |
[Subjectivity] Judgment based on individual personal impressions and feelings and opinions rather than external facts. |
Next we are faced with the concept of "wealth" and "value". |
First an axis for health, life expectancy from 25 years to 75 years. And down here, an axis for wealth. |
Right here we're faced with automatically assumed to be correct social values. Our concept of value is immediately influenced to think that money equals value. When no amount of money is valuable. |
The book modern money mechanics admits that: "Mainly, it is the CONFIDENCE people have that they will be able to exchange such money for other financial assets and for real goods and services" |

Modern Money Mechanics |
Confidence? Confidence you say? And what is the value of confidence when it comes to the physical world? Well I'll tell you. Absolutely nothing, and it would be foolish to suggest otherwise. Let me tell you the real things in life that are valuable. |
Healthy social relations, healthy food, clean water, and a humane application of science and technology. It is an objective viewpoint that has progressed humanity up to the present point. Not markets, money, politics or religion, the subjective viewpoints have only been a detriment to humanity's progress. Humanity works better cooperating with itself, instead of being in competition with itself. |
Any progress that humanity has had, is because of a humane application of science and technology, not because of market competition, violence through indifference or capitalism. |
People who advocate capitalism are attempting to claim that capitalism has progressed science and technology, when in fact it has only diminished its progress as much as possible in order to maintain society's general attitude of being subjective. Also known as "the right to your own opinion". |
Therefore critics of the zeitgeist movement are very threatened by the zeitgeist movement because we advocate an objective social system. |
One last thing I would like to mention is the idea of the world getting better because of child mortality rates decreasing because of people having smaller families. |
In a market system you're going to have poverty regardless of the state of our technology, and what we can do with our natural resources. |
The market system gravitates towards creating a contrived scarcity. The reason why is to keep products valuable to maintain the existence of the market system itself. |
So simply because of the market system functioning, you're going to have a "child mortality rate", having a smaller family doesn't address the problem |
because it ignores the fact that money is valued as more important than the health and well being of human beings. Since money is created out of debt, people are forced to |
tighten their belts to such a degree that our quality of life is decreased. When there are hard times because of a recession, those who are rich are not giving people. they've been |
dazzled by money to such a degree that all they can think about is turning the money they have into more money. |
The zeitgeist movement advocates an objective social system to replace the current subjective social system that thinks having a "child mortality rate" is acceptable. |
