As a young goat Billy had a pet warg whom he loved more than anything. But Billy's Warg took a turn for the worse and was going to die. Gripping the dying warg's body young Billy cried out that he would never let go of his beloved pet as love as he lived and the power of Abysma, the dark element, poured out of Billy and into the warg's body. The spirit of the warg, nearing the threshold of the next realm, happened to look back and saw Billy's shining love for him even brighter than the paradise he was about to enter. The warg instead choose to go back to his earthly master. Through the dark power of Abysma, the warg's now dead body began to move again.... Billy is older now and has learned to better focus his powers but his faithful warg still follows him everywhere, even though nothing remains of the wargs body but a skeleton. |
Notes on Abysma: Abysma, the dark element. Though it is called the dark element Abysma itself is neither good nor evil though most folk tend to associate it and it's users with evil. As an element Abysma tends to absorb the 4 primary elements, Pyros, Aquos, Terrada, and Aeriad. Only the element Celestia cannot be absorbed and even then highly skilled Abysma users can defend themselves against that element. People are often born attuned to at least one element or more rarely several elements but it is often frowned upon to be born with the power of Abysma locked in your soul and these individuals are marked as ill omens even if they haven’t done anything. The power of Abysma, compared to the other elements, is astonishingly easy to use and learn which is probably why the large majority of Abysma users are folk of ill repute, thugs, thieves, corrupted magi. But only the most dedicated and skilled users can surpass the more destructive tendencies of their dark element to achieve it's highest levels of power. Abysma's raw power comes from the drawing of life energy of either the caster or the caster's immediate surroundings. Overuse of this energy quickly takes it toll on the user leaving him or her physically and mentally exhausted. If your travels take you into an area that appears to be unnaturally withered then you should keep your guard up for an Abysma wielder may be nearby. |
