	scrollableText = "'Sapporo' beer, one of the most popular beer brands in Japan, has a long tradition.\r\rIn the Meiji period, when by the end of the 19th century Japan opened its doors to the West after a long period of isolation, Western fashions flooded the country.\r\rSeibei Nakagawa, who had just returned from an educational trip to Germany learning about the beer brewing process, was helping to build the first bavarian-style beer factory in the northern city of Sapporo. In 1887 a group of entrepreneurs took over the facory and founded the 'Sapporo Beer Company', its logo being the red North Star.\r\rSoon after, several kinds of beer brands were invented. Until just before the Second World War the beverage had become very popular among the Japanese.\r\rAfter the war the 'Sapporo Beer Company' struggled hard to gain its power again. No later than 1957 it was distributed extensively throughout Japan.\r\rThroughout the years Sapporo Beer Co., Ltd. has developped a large number of different beers, including wheat beer.\r\rToday beer is the most popular alcoholic drink in Japan.
