Nerrin didn't bother to wait for the shouts of the humans-- he spun about and ran. His tribe
was made for the snow, and he wasted no time in outdistancing the surprised creatures. As if
the humans in the frozen lands weren't surprise enough, when there were little more than
shouts behind him he received his second surprise for that night. All around him, the sound
of bees or wasps errupted within the air.
Solid sounds of impact hit the trees to his left and right. Confused, Nerrin almost started to
slow before he felt a light-weight but painful impact in his right thigh. With a yowl, the
hunter renewed his pace, quickly outdistancing the strange buzzing and unnerving
"thump"s, and he left the shouts and calls of the humans far behind.
The hunter was panting heavily by the time he finally slowed. Nerrin stumbled into a snow-
filled clearing, strangely dizzy. He paused, resting a paw against a large, frost-glazed boulder
as he tried to catch his breath. The world continued spinning, and he covered his face with a
hand for several moments, feeling a strange nausia. He leaned forward as if to retch, but
being off-balance caused him to tumble to the ground, and he felt something akin to pain
lance through his thigh.
His hazy mind took a moment to recall but Nerrin remembered the pain of the impact
against his leg. Turning to regard the wound, the snow leopard was surprised to see a small
shard of metal . The hunter had seen darts before, but he had always preferred blades or
spears. He reached down with a paw and gently gripped it, but was surprised when the dart
flexed slightly from the pressure, and a strange euphoric warmth swam through his body,
originating from where it was lodged in his leg.
Panting out puffs of steam, Nerrin removed his hand from the weapon, using it to steady
himself against the boulder as his breath came out in ragged gasps. The warmth spread all
over his leg, and crept its way across his groin. Confused and dizzy, the snow leopard
couldn't keep his member from stiffening at the tingling sensation, and it was only then that
he realized that the dart held a powerful toxin; he had no idea what it could be capable of.
