A word from Jacque Fresco & Roxanne Meadows of The Venus Project
The conflicts today with our fellow human beings are over opposing values and limited access to the
necessities of life. If we manage to arrive at a saner future civilization, the conflicts will be against
problems common to all humans. In a vibrant and emergent culture, rather than having conflicts
between nations, the challenges we will face will be overcoming scarcity, restructuring damaged
environments, creating innovative technologies, increasing agricultural yield, improving
communications, building communications between nations, sharing technologies, and living a
meaningful life. People would be free to pursue whatever constructive endeavors they chose without
economic pressures, restraints, and taxation that are inherent in the monetary system. By constructive
endeavors, we mean anything that enhances the lives of the individual and others.
With these major alterations, people would eventually live longer more meaningful and healthier lives.
The measure of success would be the fulfillment of one's individual pursuits rather than the acquisition
of wealth, property, and power. As we enhance the lives of others, protect our environment, and work
toward abundance, all our lives can become richer and more secure. If these values were put into
practice, it would enable all of us to achieve a much higher standard of living within a relatively short
period of time; a standard of living that would be continuously improved. When education and
resources are available to all without a price tag, there will be no limit to human potential.

The ramifications of this are staggering,

This is why Inflation is a constant in the economy,

the perpetual deficit built into the system,

caused by the need to pay the interest.

What this also means is that mathematically

BANKRUPT

And that's the point.

The New York Times
Mortgage Crisis Spreads Past Subprime Loans
Like subprime mortgages, many prime loans made in recent years allowed borrowers to
pay less initially and face higher adjustable payments a few years later. As long as home
prices were rising, these borrowers could refinance their loans or sell their properties to
pay off their mortgages. But now, with prices falling and lenders clamping down,
homeowners with solid credit are starting to come under the same financial stress as those
with subprime credit.
“Subprime was a symptom of the problem,” said James F. Keegan, a bond portfolio
manager at American Century Investments, a mutual fund company. “The problem was we
had a debt or credit bubble.”
The bursting of that bubble has led to steep losses across the financial industry. American
International Group said on Monday that auditors found it may have understated losses on
complex financial instruments linked to mortgages and corporate loans.
The running turmoil is also stirring fears that some hedge funds may run into trouble. At
the end of September, nearly 4 percent of prime mortgages were past due or in foreclosure,
according to the Mortgage Bankers Association.
That was the highest rate since the group started tracking prime and subprime mortgages
separately in 1998. The delinquency and foreclosure rate for all mortgages, 7.3 percent, is
higher than at any time since the group started tracking that data in 1979, largely as a
result of the surge in subprime lending during the last few years.
An example of the spreading credit crisis is seen in Don Doyle, a computer engineer at
Lockheed Martin who makes a six-figure income and had a stellar credit score in 2004,
when he refinanced his home in Northern California to take cash out to pay for his
daughter’s college tuition.
Mr. Doyle, 52, is now worried that he will have to file for bankruptcy, because he cannot
afford to make the higher variable payments on his mortgage, and he cannot sell his home
for more than his $740,000 mortgage.
“The whole plan was to get out” before his rate reset, he said. “Now I am caught. I can’t
sell my house. I’m having a hard time refinancing. I’ve avoided bankruptcy for months
trying to pull this out of my savings.”
The default rate for prime mortgages is still far lower than for subprime loans, about 24
percent of which are delinquent or in foreclosure. Some economists note that slightly more
than a third of American homeowners have paid off their mortgages completely. This
group is generally more affluent and contributes more to consumer spending and the
economy relative to its size.
Unlike subprime borrowers, who tend to have lower incomes and fewer assets, prime
borrowers have greater means to restructure their debt if they lose jobs or encounter other
financial challenges. The recent reductions in short term interest rates by the Federal
Reserve should also help by reducing the reset rate for adjustable loans.

Rate of Home Foreclosures Hits Record

WASHINGTON, Sept. 6 (Reuters) — The rate of home loans in

their adjustable-rate mortgages, a trade group said on Thursday.
The Mortgage Bankers Association said 0.65 percent of loans entered

The above entitled action came on before the Court and a Jury
of 12 on December 7, 1968 at 10:00 A.M. Plaintiff appeared by its
President Lawrence V. Morgan and was represented by its Counsel
Theodore R. Mellby. Defendant appeared on his own behalf.
A Jury of Talesmen were called, impaneled and sworn to try
the issues in the Case. Lawrence V. Morgan was the only witness
called for Plaintiff and Defendant testified as the only witness in
his own behalf.
Plaintiff brought this as a Common Law action for the recovery of
the possession of Lot 19 Fairview Beach, Scott County, Minn.
Plaintiff claimed title to the Real Property in question by
foreclosure of a Note and Mortgage Deed dated May 8, 1964 which
Plaintiff claimed was in default at the time foreclosure
proceedings were started.

Plaintiff
JUDGEMENT AND DECREE
Defendant

STATE OF MINNESOTA
COUNTY OF SCOTT

IN JUSTICE COURT
TOWNSHIP OF CREDIT RIVER
MARTIN V. MAHONEY, JUSTICE

In 1969, there was a Minnesota court case

involving a man named Jerome Daly,

who was challenging the foreclosure of his home by the bank,

which provided the loan to purchase it.

His argument was that the mortgage contract

required both parties, being he and the bank,

$

In legal language, this is called "consideration".

consideration:

- a contract`s basis.
A contract is founded
on an exchange of one
form of consideration
for another.

[con.sid.er.a.tion]

Mr. Daly explained that the money was, in fact,

not the property of the bank, for it was created out of nothing

as soon as the loan agreement was signed.

Modern Money Mechanics

Remember what modern money mechanics stated about loans:

It does not really matter where this money is at any
given time. The important fact is that these deposits do
not disappear. They are in some deposit accounts at all
times. All banks together have $10,000 of deposits and
reserves that they did not have before. However, they
are not required to keep $10,000 of reserves against the
$10,000 of deposits. All they need to retain, under a 10
percent reserve requirement, is $1,000. The remaining
$9,000 is "excess reserves." This amount can be loaned
or invested. See illustration 2.
If business is active, the banks with excess reserves
probably will have opportunities to loan the $9,000. Of
course, they do not really pay out loans from the
money they receive as deposits. If they did this, no
additional money would be created. What they do
when they make loans is to accept promissory notes in
exchange for credits to the borrower's transaction
accounts. Loans (assets) and deposits (liabilities) both
rise by $9,000. Reserves are unchanged by the loan
transactions. But the deposit credits constitute new
additions to the total deposits of the banking system.
See illustration 3.

"what they do when they make loans

is to accept promissory notes in exchange for credits…

Reserves are unchanged by the loan transactions.

But deposit credits constitute new additions

to the total deposits of the banking system."

In other words, the money doesn't come out

BANK

of their existing assets.

EXISTING ASSETS

LOAN

The bank is simply inventing it,

putting up nothing of its own

NEW LOAN

except for a theoretical liability on paper.

As the court case progressed, the banks president,

Mr. Morgan, took the stand,

MEMORANDUM
The issues in this case were simple. There was no material
dispute of the facts for the Jury to resolve.
Plaintiff admitted that it, in combination with the Federal
Reserve Bank of Minneapolis, which are for all practical purposes,
because of their interlocking activity and practices, and both
being Banking Institutions Incorporated under the Laws of the United
States, are in the Law to be treated as one and the same Bank, did
create the entire $14,000.00 in money or credit upon its own books
by bookkeeping entry. That this was the Consideration used to support
the Note dated May 8,1964 and the Mortgage of the same date. The money
and credit first came into existence when they created it. Mr. Morgan
admitted that no United States Law or Statute existed which gave
him the right to do this. A lawful consideration must exist and be
tendered to support the Note. See Ansheuser-Busch Brewing Company v.
Emma Mason, 44 Minn. 318, 46 N.W. 558.  The Jury found that there was no
lawful consideration and I agree. Only God can create something of value
out of nothing.
Even if Defendant could be charged with waiver or estoppel as
a matter of Law this is no defense to the Plaintiff.  The Law leaves
wrongdoers where it finds them. See sections 50, 51 and 52 of Am Jur
2nd "Actions" on page 584 - "no action will lie to recover on a claim
based upon, or in any manner depending upon, a fraudulent, illegal,
or immoral transaction or contract to which Plaintiff was a party.

and in the judge's personal memorandum, he recalled that

"The Plaintiff (bank's president) admitted that,

in combination with the Federal Reserve Bank

…did create the…money and credit upon its books

the money and credit first came into existence

when they created it…

Mr. Morgan admitted that no United States law or statute

existed which gave him the right to do this…

a lawful consideration must exist

and be tendered to support the note."

"The jury found that there was no lawful consideration

and I agree"

He also poetically added,

"Only God can create something of value out of nothing"

And upon this revelation, the court rejected the bank's claim

FORECLOSURE

for foreclosure and Daly kept his home.

The implications of this court decision are immense,

for every time you borrow money from a bank,

whether it is a mortgage loan or a credit card charge,

the money given to you is not only counterfeit,

it is an illegitimate form of consideration
