Adventures of ALYX

Start Game

This is deep in space... Far away from planet Earth, far from our home Solar
system. This is the Jovian solar system,  24 lightyears away from home. The
human race has found ways of travelling with the speed of light, and
technology has become so advanced, that it would put you and I in great
disbelief.  In this particulary solar system there is another advanced race,
who also travels through space, and have a home on planet Thalador. The
humans had just discovered the alien life, and was curious about the find.
They sendt a small vessel to investigate the strange signals coming from
Thalador. Little did they know... The aliens have had their sights on Earth for
a long, long time. And they have made evil plans for the faith of the human
race. The alien lifeform was afraid that the humans would become too
powerful in the near future, so they had decided to end
it quick...

Next ->

Onboard the small human ship there are five astronauts. All of them are
professionals at what they do. They are always the first squad to arrive at
new planets and strange signals. They are masters at scanning planets for
life, and finding out if the unknown worlds are dangerous. The ship they use
is state of the art,  it has a stealthfield to prevent radars picking up their
signals, it has a small but very effective radar and omni system, and it has a
huge top of the line engine, it even has the all time speedrecord of any
spacecraft made by humans. It has been recorded at as high speeds as 80
times the speed of light. However, no official records have been set, meaning
the everyday normal person doesnt even know the ship exists. The whole
project is top secret.
In the crew there are four men and one woman, who have been working
together since the day this project started, which is about 5 years from now.
Five years doesnt sound like much, but the way technology have advanced
within these five small years is increadibly huge! The human race has
exploded so to speak, by taking over new worlds, and claiming more
territory...

The "small" human ship is in possition to start
scanning planet Thalador.  They have to
wait for a minute to let the powercells
recharge after the long trip to this place.

Escape ->

As soon as the humans turn on their
scanning equipment, the aliens attack.
The ship lost its shields within seconds,
and the crew has to escape!

Sadly only one member makes it out alive...

The survivor of the attack puts the autopilot on, making the
escapepod automatically head back to earth at a high speed. The pod
will be home very soon...
... and this is where our story begins.

This is Alyx, she is 24 years old, born in the U.S.A and has been working with the
government since age of 18.  Alyx is the daughter of Dr. Eli Vance, a key-scientist
that helped develop new technologies for the human race.  She is a generally
friendly person and has a good sense of humor.

After a couple of weeks Alyx is only hours away from home, and she tries to
contact Earth. But there is no response. She tries again and again, but it seems
no one is there.
"Fuck! The last weeks have been hell, and now this?" she frowns.

She decides to land without permission, well... its not like she has a choice
anyways. So she aims the ship towards her home, and goes for it!

Alyx comes in for a nice landing in her home town, Washington DC.  However, things doesnt look good.

Everything looks like ruins, an aftermath of something horrible...

The ship lands softly on the dust filled ground, and the engine shuts down.

Alyx quickly gets up and jogs to the backdoor of the ship.

...

Alyx cant belive her own eyes...

The whole place has been teared up, cars are on top of each other and big
blocks of buildings are destroyed. And there are no person or living thing to be
seen.

Climb up

Go inside

Where should Alyx go?

Alyx gets ready for the jump, this shouldnt be hard.

She makes the jump, and pulls herself up.

Okay, that was simple. Where to next?

Alyx approaches the door carefully.

She peeks inside the building. Its pretty dark in here...

Downstairs

Upstairs

First floor. Inside there is nothing else than a table and some buckets of paint, but
there is stairs leading both up and down. where to?

Alyx looks inside, its pretty dark in there. But it looks clear!

Check room

Second floor... with buckets of paint, and a wooden table.

Alyx passes the couch and follows the small corridor.

Back to hallway

Check room

The room is empty, except for some furniture. It is surprising that there is still
power in here...

Go back

This room is empty...

There is nothing of interest in here...

Investigate

Alyx moves slowly down the stairs, and after a couple of steps a strange sound
comes from the basement. She stops for a brief moment, and thinks again about
going down here.

Go down there

Hey! Theres someone down there!

Try to talk to her

There is a girl here... trapped in what seems like some kind of flesh. Alyx touches
the stuff with her finger, and finds out that it sticks quite good to whatever it
touches. This girl has no chance of getting out of there.

Ask what happened

After a small tap to the chin the girl awakes.
"...what??... No... you must not be here!! Go away! Before they get you too!"
Alyx doesnt know what she means.

Ask what found them

"The sky filled with strange lights... and all of the sudden there were huge
explosions everywhere as far as the eye could see...  I survived because of this
basement, and we were many more down here... until we was found..." The girl starts
getting tears in her eyes.

What creatures?

The girl suddenly gets a scared look on her face, and says "First, there was a problem
with strange flies that ate all sorts of fabrics, in a week no-one had any clothes left...
Then came the ... creatures..." she pauses.

Why did they do this to you?

She tries her best to explain, "The bigger creatures... the ones that made this...
stuff... They came out of nowhere, and captured people all over the place. Most
people were taken to the nest... while some were hung up like me."

What kind of fluids?

She avoids eye contact, and says "... They keep me here to feed."
Alyx doesnt understand, and asks "Feed? But you look ok...?"
The girl looks away, and whispers "Yes... but they survive by drinking bodyfluids...
at first they drank human blood.... but they soon found new fluids to drink... after
a couple of days they stopped killing people, and held people prisoners instead,
and they forcefeed us while we sleep... this way they get unlimited fluids."

Hide

CLANK!
A loud noise came from upstairs.
"Oh my god... You have to get out of here! They are here!" the girl screams.

Hide in the dark

Alyx quickly runs for cover. But where should she hide?
