Instead of making products inferior due to cost efficiency and the need for cyclical consumption, we aim to create products and infrastructure etc, to the highest standard of design technically possible. Besides strategically designed products for temporary use, we want things to last as long as possible, perform as efficiently as possible, be improvable, interchangeable and we must also consider that we can harvest the product for its resources once it is obsolete or broken. Instead of owning everything we use, we can create a system of strategic access for when people require the use of certain things. Instead of owning a house and being confined to one location, a system of strategic access would allow people to live wherever they want. This logic can be applied to many things. For instance boats, why own a boat when it remains unused for 90% of its life? More obviously this logic can be applied to cars. Why own a car when we only use it 70% of the time? We can use Google Cars (driver-less cars operated by GPS) and free up all the parking lots, reduce production, increase overall access and not to mention increase safety strategically, this would enable taxi & bus drivers to be free for other things. This is a crude example because we can probably create a more efficient transportation system that isn't reliant upon fossil fuels but it paints a clear picture for the logic proposed. Instead of competing we can collaborate and hence make the most optimum products and informed economic decisions. We must treat the planet as a closed system and account for its resources as a whole. At the moment artificial scarcity creates a propensity for people to lie about what they actually have (eg the price of gold is dependent upon how much gold exists). So we cannot make clear economic decisions without knowing what we have and where we have it. There are many questions people have after receiving this information that may conflict with the operant conditioning and associated myths of the current monetary based culture eg. What on Earth will people do without jobs? Please view a You-Tube video called "Common Objections - Ben Mcleash". Ignore this information to your own detriment. |
